ECFH Committed to Development of Sports

The East Caribbean Financial Holding Company (ECFH) remains steadfast in its commitment to the development of sports and youth empowerment, vital aspects of it corporate social responsibility mandate. ECFH and its subsidiaries continue to support the sporting community in a number of disciplines, and will continue to partner with local associations and federations for the promotion and development of sports in St. Lucia and wider region.

The ECFH Group was a major sponsor of the St. Lucia Volleyball Association’s Guy Brown Memorial Tournament and the recently held Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA) Youth Female Volleyball Championships at the Beausejour Indoor Facility. The management & staff of the ECFH Group extend kudos to the four teams (St. Maarten, Antigua, St. Lucia & St. Vincent), the coaching staff and management for a well-played tournament, which was a bold, positive statement for regional sports. Congratulations to team St. Maarten, the 2012 ECVA Youth Female Champions. The Group was extremely pleased with the 3rd place performance of the St. Lucia National Youth Team particularly for the clear demonstration of good sportsmanship and the spirit of teamwork.

ECFH, through its largest subsidiary Bank of Saint Lucia has been a major sponsor of basketball for the last several years. This support continued for another consecutive year with the St. Lucia Basketball Federation’s 2012 National Men’s Basketball Tournament, with Bank of Saint Lucia being a Gold Sponsor. The cheque presentation took place on Tuesday March 6th at the Ministry of Youth & Sports Conference Room, 4th Floor Greaham Louisy Building. The tournament is expected to run from Saturday March 10th 2012 to Saturday June 16th 2012 at a number of locations throughout St. Lucia including the Vigie Sports Complex, Beausejour Indoor Facility and facilities in Vieux Fort, Gros Islet and Dennery.

The ECFH Group will continue in its efforts to support sports and athletic events that espouse team spirit, tradition and innovation as well as the exceptional performance quality – ideals which mirror the mission and core values of the organisation.
