East Caribbean Financial Holding Company Limited (ECFH) has lent its full support to the Saint Lucia Manufacturers Association (SMA) Quality Awards Programme. The programme is designed to recognize companies within the manufacturing sector for exemplary work and best practices, and to provide a platform for the development of other companies towards the adoption of internationally recognized standards.
Paula Calderon, SMA President, lauded the ECFH Group for recognizing the importance of the manufacturing sector as an engine for the promotion of economic growth and development; and its impact on St. Lucia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). She indicated that the Quality Awards Programme would not have materialized without the endorsement and financial support of ECFH. Group Managing Director, Robert Norstrom, noted that ECFH’s largest subsidiary, Bank of Saint Lucia, has been supporting economic diversification and in particular the manufacturing sector annually and will continue to do so. He applauded the SMA for the establishment of the Quality Awards Programme, to which the Group officially contributed $30,000 EC dollars. The support of this programme is a clear demonstration of ECFH’s commitment to the sustainable growth & development of this crucial sector.
